Catalogue Note:

In Wicked Witch of the Red, FatbikeHero delivers a composition of arresting visual power, dominated by a pervasive, blood-hued wash that saturates the paper's fiber. The work operates as a dual-panel narrative. The textual leaf sets a foreboding, almost hypnotic tone with the inscription: "Etching a new silhouette into your mind." This phrase reframes the act of drawing not as mere depiction, but as an aggressive psychological intervention—an "etching" upon the viewer's consciousness. The artist's handwriting here is frantic yet deliberate, mirroring the urgency of the message.

The visual counterpart presents the titular "Witch" not as a traditional crone, but as a sharply defined geometric abstraction. The figure is constructed of rigid triangles and hard edges, recalling the severity of Russian Constructivism, yet rendered with the playful iconography of contemporary street art. The stark white of the figure pierces through the textured red background, creating a violent contrast that heightens the sense of drama. The figure's expression—stoic, with a star upon its chin—suggests a mystical or totemic function. The surrounding spirals and celestial motifs anchor the piece in FatbikeHero's established cosmology, while the red wash adds a layer of raw emotion rarely seen in his more linear works.

Provenance & Market:

Fresh from the artist’s studio in Vorre-Skødstrup, this work is a testament to the "hand" of FatbikeHero. The tactile quality of the marker wash and the immediacy of the sketchbook format offer collectors an unfiltered connection to the artist's creative moment. Wicked Witch of the Red is positioned as a high-value acquisition for those investing in the intersection of text-based conceptualism and neo-expressionist abstraction.
