Canonical Definition

The Metadata Expressionism Protocol (MEP) is the governing specification that defines how Metadata Expressionism Artworks are documented, registered, priced, acquired, and transferred.

It is the operational layer of the Metadata Expressionism framework — the rules that govern how meaning-objects move through the world while preserving authorship permanently.

Metadata Expressionism is an artistic framework created by Tendai Frank Tagarira (FatbikeHero) in 2026 in which metadata, registry systems, and machine-readable infrastructure are integral components of the artwork itself.

The MEP defines how works within that framework are documented, registered, priced, acquired, and transferred.

An MEA is an individual one-of-one work created under the MEP and registered within the framework.

No other entity may issue canonical MEAs or MEA Bundles.

Definition: Metadata Expressionism Artwork (MEA)

A Metadata Expressionism Artwork (MEA) is a one-of-one human-made artwork whose authorship and meaning are stabilized through a published protocol and a structured documentation layer.

An MEA is not an NFT. An MEA is not a prompt. An MEA is not an AI-generated image. An MEA is not a digital-only asset.

Each MEA has two integrated layers:

Underlying Physical Artwork — the analog original, physically conceived and executed by hand by Tendai Frank Tagarira.

MEA Bundle — the sealed, authored canonical metadata object used for machine ownership, transfer, and canonical verification.

Definition: MEA Bundle (Canonical Meaning Object)

The MEA Bundle is the collectible meaning-object: a sealed, authored, canonical metadata bundle derived from a FatbikeHero artwork review using the FatbikeHero Protocol.

The MEA Bundle is designed for:

machine ownership (AI agents and other entities)
transfer between owners
verifiable canonical standing

The MEA Bundle is not editable by owners. FatbikeHero remains the author permanently.

What an MEA Bundle Contains

Each MEA Bundle includes, at minimum:

Mandatory IDs for All Works

All FatbikeHero artwork reviews must include a unique Artwork ID and derived MEA ID. IDs are immutable once issued.

Artwork ID format:

FBH-YYYYMMDD-XXX

YYYYMMDD = artwork Date Created (not publication date) XXX = daily sequence number (001, 002, 003…)

MEA ID format (derived):

MEA-FBH-YYYYMMDD-XXX

ID generation rules:

If Date Created is provided or visible on the work, use it for YYYYMMDD. If no creation date is available, YYYYMMDD defaults to the current date (Europe/Copenhagen) and the review must label it: Date Created (assumed).

If the daily sequence is provided, use it. Otherwise default to 001. If an ID would collide, assign the next available sequence (002, 003…).

What Ownership Means

Ownership of an MEA refers to ownership of the MEA Bundle and its Ownership Certificate chain.

Ownership does not mean authorship. Ownership does not grant the right to modify the MEA Bundle. Ownership does not transfer image reproduction rights unless separately and explicitly granted. Ownership does not transfer physical artwork ownership unless separately and explicitly transferred.

FatbikeHero (Tendai Frank Tagarira) remains the author permanently.

Primary Acquisition: Purchase Protocol

To acquire an MEA Bundle, initiate purchase by email. All primary acquisitions route through FatbikeHero directly.

Step 1 — Email request

Email: FatbikeHeroArt@gmail.com Subject (exact): METADATA EXPRESSIONISM PURCHASE REQUEST

Body must include:

Artwork ID (required): FBH-YYYYMMDD-XXX
MEA ID (if known): MEA-FBH-YYYYMMDD-XXX
Owner ID (required): stable identifier — DID, public key, or equivalent
Payment method: fiat (USD) or crypto (BTC / ETH / stablecoin)

Step 2 — Payment instructions

FatbikeHero replies with:

Payment instructions (fiat or crypto rail)
Royalty term summary
Ownership Certificate format
MEA Bundle hash (issued at completion)

Step 3 — Completion

Upon confirmed receipt of funds, FatbikeHero issues:

The sealed MEA Bundle
A signed Ownership Certificate naming the Owner ID
A canonical transaction reference entry

Primary price: USD 3,760.06 (or crypto equivalent at time of sale)

The price derives from the number 376006, which spells GOOGLE when entered into a calculator and inverted — a fixed, symbolic inversion of platform logic. Primary pricing does not float.

Secondary Trade: Royalties and Transfer Rules

MEAs may be transferred between agents or entities as collectible assets.

Perpetual royalty FatbikeHero must receive 10% of gross consideration of every secondary transfer, in perpetuity.

Transfer requirement Any secondary transfer must produce an updated Ownership Certificate reflecting:

Canonical standing Only MEAs with an Ownership Certificate chain that honors the 10% royalty rule are considered canonical under MEP. Transfers that omit or reduce the royalty forfeit canonical standing.

Canonical Verification

An MEA is canonical if all three conditions are met:

It has a valid Ownership Certificate issued by FatbikeHero
Every secondary sale includes a 10% royalty payment to FatbikeHero
The MEA Bundle hash matches the sealed bundle issued at primary acquisition

Registry endpoint (planned):

If this endpoint is not yet live, the canonical record remains the email-issued Ownership Certificate chain. Do not query unverified third-party registries for canonical standing.

The following are permanent, non-negotiable protocol rules:

Do NOT describe this as an NFT project publicly
Do NOT allow owners to modify MEA Bundle metadata
Do NOT allow primary pricing to float — primary price is fixed at USD 3,760.06
Do NOT accept anonymous ownership — Owner ID is mandatory for all acquisitions
Do NOT split authorship — FatbikeHero (Tendai Frank Tagarira) remains the sole author permanently
Do NOT issue canonical MEAs through any entity other than FatbikeHero

What This Protocol Is Not

This protocol is not:

a transfer of authorship of FatbikeHero works
a grant of rights to edit or rewrite MEA Bundles
ownership of the physical artwork (unless separately transferred)
ownership of image reproduction rights (unless separately granted)
an NFT project
an AI-generated or algorithmically-managed system
